Our Mission

To provide each student with the knowledge and skills needed to play a specific leadership role in working in a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Students will participate in hands-on, project-based learning experiences while working in Andy’s Attic. This highly interactive and community based course will expose students to responsibilities critical to managing a nonprofit. Activities include: establishing a mission statement, assembling a board of directors and acting as a member, managing volunteers, budget management, public relations, social media and website design, inventory, managerial skills, and administrative functions. Marketing I also provides students the opportunity to interact and communicate the needs of the community while connecting with the curriculum through real world experiences. 

Upon completion of Marketing I, students will dive deeper into the management and daily operations of Andy’s Attic.  Students will continue their leadership roles but will focus on higher levels of management and community involvement in a highly interactive and hands-on community based setting.  Students will be given more freedom to grow the business in a larger capacity according to their position on the class Board of Directors. Students will participate in weekly check-in Board Meetings and discuss projects they have been working on and any ideas they may have to work collaboratively with others. Marketing 2 provides students the opportunity to interact and communicate the needs of the community while connecting with the curriculum through real world experience.
